André Mérian

We are pleased to invite you to the fourth show by André Mérian at the gallery.

 

He has been thinking about the question of landscapes and the imprint that man has left on them since 1988. André Mérian finds his inspiration in borders, transitory frontiers, outlying areas : after the series he has made in the Netherlands and in Syria, he now goes on working on the industrial landscapes of Britanny.

 

This new body of work shows how uniform suburbs, roads and cars are getting more and more commun there, making of these landscapes images of the increasing urbanization his whole work reflects.
